Max Donaldson

Max Donaldson is a pianist and composer from Almonte, Ontario who is now based in Toronto. He is a 2020 graduate of the University of Toronto's Bachelor of Music Jazz Performance program, where he studied with pianists Chris Donnelly, Dave Restivo, Mark Eisenman, drummer Nick Fraser and trumpeter Jim Lewis. 

Donaldson performs as both a solo pianist and band leader, playing his original compositions around Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal. He is known as an adventurous, imaginative, and lyrical piano player who plays with devotion. Max released his debut album “The Max Donaldson Trio, Live at Sellers and Newel” in late 2025 through Lit Soc records and is set to release his sophomore album of solo piano compositions this summer.
